'Kia Rio Windows Down' Playlist Gains Fans on Spotify

If you haven't heard of Spotify yet you're missing out. For those who don't know, Spotify is a hot new, free, music streaming program. You can listen to any music you want, build playlists and share them with friends through Facebook or Spotify itself. Because Kia has recently turned to popular music to generate buzz (LMFAO "Party Rock Anthem" anyone?) they've now partnered with Spotify to create a playlist.
To encourage their customers to enjoy the music, Kia has labled it the "Kia Rio Windows Down" Playlist. The list of music features over 1,100 songs which have been added by Kia fans. Its obviously a hit because the average listen time is 24 minutes.
The playlist was built to promote the new 2012 Kia Rio which is available as a 4-door sedan and a 5-door hatchback. The Rio gets great gas mileage (30mpg city/40mpg highway) so you don't have to feel bad about driving around a little longer to enjoy your favorite tunes with the windows down.
In explaining Kia's marketing shift to popular music, Michael Sprague, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Kia says, "From our 'Share Some Soul' ad featuring LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' to Motley Crue belting out 'Kickstart My Heart' in last month's Super Bowl commercial, music plays an important role in Kia's marketing efforts and being the first in the auto industry to partner with Spotify continues that trend. Spotify is an innovative music service, and aligning with a new platform that embraces the sharing of music was a natural fit for Kia to extend our Rio launch. Being the first to create a car-centric playlist on Spotify in the U.S. increases Kia's interaction with our target audiences that are passionate about music and social media."1
If you would like to contribute to Kia's playlist,
hop on Facebook and nominate your favorite music. While you wait for the
official playlist, why not come down to Lokey Kia on 27960 U.S. Hwy 19N in
Clearwater, FL today to check out the all new Kia Rio in person.
