It used to be easy to choose a favorite new Kia model here at Lokey Kia. Not so much anymore, as it seems that Kia is introducing a new or completely redesigned model every few months, and they're all impressive in their own rights. That said, we plan on highlighting some of the latest additions to the lineup here on our blog in the coming months, because there is simply no way to pick just one or two to talk about.

Today, however, we'd like to share with you some of the key features of the Kia Optima Hybrid, a stylish and economical choice for hybrid shoppers that doesn't compromise performance, comfort, or safety. Oh, and it boasts 35 mpg city/40 mpg highway.

Let's start with its advanced hybrid technology. The Optima Hybrid is powered by a 2.4-liter engine, a six-speed automatic transmission, a 30 kW electric motor, and a lightweight battery, which all together provide an impressive 206 horsepower. It's more than just another fuel-efficient car, however. The United States EPA has given it their coveted "SmartWay" certification, which means it's received a Greenhouse Gas Score  and Air Pollution Score of at least six (out of ten), with a combination of the two that's higher than 13.

The inside of the Kia Optima Hybrid is very similar to the original Kia Optima: a cockpit designed with the driver in mind, with a display on the gauge cluster for hybrid system information. The Hybrid comes standard with all of the options of the Optima LX S/T trim, with an eight-way power adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, a rearview camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and one-touch up/down front windows.

Additional options include an UVO infotainment system, as well as the Hybrid Premium and Technology Package. Panoramic sunroof, heated leather seats, and an Infinity audio system anyone?
