Kia and Blake Griffin Up the Ante in New Add

Maybe you've seen the new Kia ad spot that's been making its way around the web... It features L.A. Clipper player, Blake Griffin taking his game to the next level with a little help from the 2012 Kia Optima. The new commercial is a direct response to a stunt that Griffin pulled during the Sprite All-Star Slam Dunk contest earlier this year, in which he performed an incredible slam dunk while jumping over a Kia Optima.

The original video of Griffin dunking a ball over the sedan's hood is nothing short of amazing. The new ad, however, is clearly staged, but entertaining nonetheless. It features Griffin being towed by the 2012 Optima on a pair of inline skates. After hitting a 45-degree ramp, Griffin lets go, soaring into the sky, where he catches a basket ball and dunks it right through a massive 45-foot-high basketball hoop.

The full commercial can be seen at the Kia Youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/Kia).And it's currently airing on prime time, late night, and cable programming.

The ad itself comes as a part of Kia and Griffin's multiyear deal, which has Griffin not only starring in commercials, but also appearing at various events and engaging in philanthropic efforts on the company's behalf. This unique relationship is truly one of a kind, as Blake Griffin is the only NBA player to have an exclusive endorsement with an automaker.
