2012 Kia Rio5 to Get a Welcome Price Cut

As consumers, we have come to expect new model releases to have higher MSRPs than outgoing models. Kia is bucking this trend and offering their 2012 Kia Rio5 for $1,500 less than the 2011 model. The Rio5 is expected to go on sale in October.
The best part about the pricing is that even though it costs slightly less, the 2012 Rio5 is packed with even more technological features than its predecessor. One example of this is the start stop technology. Normally only available on luxury vehicles the new Rio5 will have it included as part of the $400 eco option. It goes without saying, but the start-stop technology will also be increasing fuel economy.
The 2012 Kia Rio5 will still be available in two trims: the LX and SX. The LX features power steering, tilting steering wheel, AC, a CD player and a split, folding rear seat. The higher-level SX stands out with available 15-inch wheels, metal pedals, sporty rear spoiler, fog lights and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Power and Performance options
- Four-wheel drive powertain.
- 1.6-liter,
four-cylinder engine
- Choice of
a five-speed manual transmission or an automatic.
Gas mileage will vary depending on transmission choice. The manual will get 35 mpg on the highway and 32 mpg in the city while the automatic transmission will be getting slightly better mileage at 38 mpg highway and 32 mpg in the city.
