The Kia Optima is launching later this year, but Kia just announced that there will be a hybrid version of the 2011 Optima! The all new 2011 Hybrid Optima will be making its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November and the car will be available in November. The Optima Hybrid should come in around 37 mpg city and 39 mpg highway. Power will likely come from a 2.4L four-cylinder engine, producing 209 horsepower and 195 ft-lbs of torque, with electric speeds of up to 62 mph.
For those not willing to make the financial jump to the hybrid version there will be a 2011 Kia Optima EX which will be gasoline run and be a bit cheaper than the hybrid version. Even though its gasoline powered, the Optima EX will still gets respectable gas mileage at 24 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
The starting price for the new 2011 Optima is $22,100. There is no price available yet for the hybrid version of the Optima. Because of its efficient gas mileage and economical price, the Optima is the perfect car for college grads, new car owners or commuters.
