Kia Brings Back Hamster Ad Campaign



The Kia Hamsters originally made a name for themselves while promoting the new Kia Soul during the 2009 Super Bowl. Kia has decided to bring the hamsters back to star in their newest ad campaign.

The newest ad campaign features the hamsters in the Black Sheep music video campaign for the Soul, singing, "You can get with this or you can get with that." The music video campaign coincides with an online video contest called "Who's Next?" which tries to find the next big internet star.

Participants have to submit a video that uses the Kia Soul in some way and uses the phrase, "A new way to roll." Two finalists will be flown to Los Angeles, but only one person will come home with the grand prize of $10,000.

Kia is fully embracing the wild world of social media. Michael Sprague, vice president, marketing & communications, KMA says, "Social media is an important part of the marketing strategy for Soul and engaging passionate enthusiasts in this space creates additional opportunities to build buzz through a new, interactive experience."
 
Kia is also promoting the Kia Soul through Yahoo advertisements and interactive banner ads. All video submissions for the contest will be posted on the Kia Soul YouTube Channel.  Enter your own video today for a chance to win $10,000!
